Can I use my standard 18V LXT batteries on this saw?
No. The UC014GZ operates exclusively on Makita's 40V Max XGT battery platform. Standard 18V LXT batteries are not compatible.
Can I use a top-handle chainsaw for cutting firewood on the ground?
We strongly advise against this. Top-handle saws are designed specifically for certified climbing arborists to use off the ground. For firewood and ground-felling, you should use a rear-handle model.
